Dr. Sumlin was born and raised in Charlotte. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both his undergraduate and dental studies. He then completed a 2-year General Practice Residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He is active in the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Charlotte Dental Society. He and his wife Carrie recently celebrated the arrival of their first child. They also enjoy traveling, sports, and spending time with their Labrador Retriever.

Hello, I'm Bonnie Collins. I'm a native of Charlotte. I'm the mother of three terrific daughters and have one super grandson. I've been married for 24 years to a wonderful husband. I started in the dental field while in high school. I started my career working in the front office. After taking some time off to be a full-time mother, I decided that I wanted to further my career in the dental field and obtained my DAII Certification. I have been assisting for over seven years and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I'm very excited to be a part of Dr. Sumlin's staff and I'm looking forward to being a part of our patient's dental care.

Hi, my name is Allison and I am the newest member of the dental team. Specifically, I am one of two assistants here at Chestnut Dentistry. My husband, Aaron and I have a 9 year old son, who we are very proud of. I enjoy working with and meeting new people. My goal is to ensure that our patients have a pleasant experience while receiving quality dental care. While away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as cooking, and reading.

Hello, I'm Cheryl York. I am the mother of three grown children; a son and two daughters. I have been married to my husband Greg for 29 wonderful years. I graduated from UNC-CH and have been practicing dental hygiene for 30 years. I love working with people, especially in Dr. Sumlin's state of the art office and his superb staff. Hi! My name is Amanda Williams. I have lived in Indian Trail my entire life. After graduating from Sun Valley High School in May of 2002, I began working as a dental assistant, and currently work as a receptionist for Dr. Benjamin Sumlin at Chestnut Family and Cosmetic Dentistry. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting with family, spending time with friends, and going to the gym. After being in dentistry for over 8 years, I love my job because I enjoy the interaction with all the patients and getting to see their smiling faces. The state-of-the-art office that Dr. Sumlin has is by far the nicest and most relaxing place I have ever been.
